Brush Voice is Ardesco's second show created in collaboration with ink brush painter Sungsook Setton. Brush Voice tells the story of the search for a meaningful simplicity. Paintings emerge in counterpoint to music by Beethoven, Stravinsky, Ligeti, Meyer, Zorn, Yun, Gubidulina, Robison and Walker.

Each of three acts represent in turn; spring (emergence), summer-fall (abundance) and winter (purification). A guide, played both by Laura Karney on Oboe and a series of video taped visual gestures lead us on this universal journey.

Laura's part explores a single motive from Ligeti's first quartet in a variety of contexts before expressing it in its most pure form at the end of the show.

Brush Voice utilized a crew of 25 artists, production staff and musicians.
